Qi Gong • What can it do for me?
Qi Gong is a system of movement, breathing and meditation designed to balance energy. It is one of the branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Movements in Qi Gong are slow and flowing. It is considered by proponents to be a healing art as well as a spiritual practice. There also is a martial arts component.
Qi Gong has a long and complicated history in China, and was even banned or restricted more than once. It was introduced in the west sometime in the 1970’s and today, there are hundreds of thousands of Americans who incorporate the practice into their daily life.
The Qigong Institute hails it as “an attitude that works to restructure one’s perspective in life, leading to balance and harmony with the world.”
